Cloud Break, the last Gold Wave painting for 2010

Here is the first big gold wave painting created for last year 2010 that was completed in November. A bit late to finish a large piece, but 2010 was a busy one. Starting with my grand mother passing away and flying home to New Zealand for the first time in 17 years to attend her funeral. Got to see lots of friends and family and my beautiful country. The rest of the year I painted mostly smaller pieces and experimented. In the middle of 2010 I had major back and neck issues that had me down for 3 months with a thoracic outlet syndrome down my right arm and shoulder. That was not fun. But the trip to Eugene with my girl Adove in August was a blast.

So here is another Dalai Lama meets Duke Kahanamoku for Tea style wave of good fortune Cloud Break . 15 layers, 24 in x 30 in. oil, 12k white gold and 23k yellow gold on wood bas-relief.
